Forever Attainable Living

  A holistic approach to

eco-positive, permanently attainable, economically regenerative, and

friendly communities.

Transforming Living

Making a profit selling and renting shelter has been going on for hundreds of years. It’s time for a new system. Investors maximize profits by continuously increasing monthly rents and home prices. This focus on profit is at a tipping point. It’s stressing families, increasing houselessness, contributing to income disparity and a host of social issues. Over 60% of American homeowners don’t really own their homes, the banks do. These homeowners are contributing to record profits for investors and banks.

It’s time for a sustainable, attainable, regenerative living solution. It’s time to shift from an economic bottom line to a humanitarian bottom line so that we counter the increasing economic disparity in our world. It’s time for change.

Lower Rents

It takes an average of 22 subcontractors to build a home from scratch according to a report from the National Association of Home Builders. We have, with PAL, our own nonprofit construction company. We can bring a number of these subcontractors in-house so that we can reduce the overhead cost inherent in 22 companies, each with its own overhead and profit margins.

Our research shows that with contributed or lower land costs, locally farmed hemp fiber construction materials, and 3D building technology, we may reduce the current construction cost of housing by as much as 70%.

The result when we stop maximizing income: lower rents and a higher standard of living for our ‘Ohana.

Dignity.

Eco-Positive

By collaborating with sustainable design nonprofit organizations such as the Rocky Mountain Institute and Natural Capitalism Solutions, the Foundation is planning one of the world’s first climate positive communities.

We collaborate with producers of hemp fiber building materials to use in our projects on Kauai and across the United States. This sequesters hundreds/thousands of tons of CO2 with a natural alternative to the many high carbon footprint building materials commonly used in construction, doing our part to counter climate change.

We’re planning community solar to meet 100% of our needs. Having sharable electric vehicles and bicycles, a recycling center, bus access, walking paths, food forest, edible landscape, 100% LED lighting, and energy star appliances will all contribute to our ongoing eco-positive commitment.

Economically Regenerative

Our regenerative business model ensures an enduring legacy for our philanthropic partners. In addition to covering building maintenance and community operational costs, monthly rents are set to repay construction costs over 20 years. This means that every 20 years your contribution regenerates, building additional homes and extending your legacy forever.

Friendly

We build multi-generational, income diverse, self-governing communities based on values that invite neighbors to care about every resident, from our youngest keiki to our oldest kupuna. We expect neighbors to care about one another and to respect and celebrate differences, knowing that diversity makes us stronger.

Our commitment is to acknowledge and uplift every person’s dignity. We keep each other safe.

We live for the good of the Whole.

Affordable In Perpetuity

The Foundation owns the homes and neighborhoods in perpetuity. There are no investors to raise rents beyond what is needed to maintain and regenerate our friendly communities.

Forever.
